No stiles; no steps; 1 steep ascent. Footpaths and green lanes, reasonably even underfoot but muddy in places in wet weather; surfaced roads.

3. Buckfast Abbey to Tavistock Abbey

Buckfast Abbey to Tavistock Abbey on this long distance trail through the Dartmoor National Park. The trail runs through series of rocky tors, past rivers and villages. The route climbs to a height of over 1660 feet.

Burrator Reservoir in Dartmoor is well worth exploring on foot or by bike. As well as waterside paths, there is a road circling the whole reservior, with miles of woodland trails, brooks, streams and waterfalls in the surrounding area.

Easy walk with woodland sections and waterside trails, and picnic tables dotted around the lake. This walk takes you around the Venford Reservoir in an area full of hut circles, cairns and stone rows. Extend the walk by visiting the old world war rifle range or nearby Bench Tor and North Tor.

13. Two Moors Way

The Two Moors Way walking route is from Ivybridge to Lynmouth through Dartmoor, and Exmoor National Parks in Devon and into Somerset. Taking in the moor and deep and wooded valleys of the moorland edges. The walk is generally not strenous, is comprehensively
waymarked, apart from the open moorland sections
which require navigational skills.
